VICE China - Nepal Earthquake Documentary
Just two months after Nepal's catastrophic earthquake in 2015, VICE were approached by Yidaozou, a new Chinese travel app, to cover its trip to that country. Much had already been reported by BBC/CNN etc about the scale of the disaster, so the idea for this documentary was to take a completely different approach and discover what the younger generation were doing to help with the recovery. We hooked up with one of Nepal's biggest death metal bands, Underside, to give Chinese viewers an up-close look at the how the disaster has galvanized young people in Nepal.
